Project WET Educator Workshop with the DEC

Join the DEC at miSci for a special education workshop.

The cornerstone of Project WET is its methodology – teaching about water resources through hands-on, investigative, easy-to-use activities.  In addition to educating students about water, Project WET activities also develop skills – teamwork, decision making and problem solving among them – that help prepare learners for the water resource challenges of this century.

Project WET is driven by emerging water issues, changing educational priorities and reform, new scientific discoveries and break-throughs in how water is used, managed and protected, and the availability of information technology and social connectivity.

The award-winning, NSTA-recommended Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0 continues Project WET’s dedication to 21st-century, cutting-edge water education. Correlated to the Common Core Standards (preliminary Next Generation Science Standards correlations are in review and coming soon), the Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0 gives educators of children from kindergarten to twelfth grade the tools they need to integrate water education into every school subject. The guide also includes numerous extensions for using the activities in Pre-K environments. Featuring 64 field-tested activities, more than 500 color photographs and illustrations, and useful appendices with information on teaching methods, assessment strategies and more, this guide is an essential classroom tool. The guide is also an excellent resource for pre-service teachers.
