Design, Build, Create, KEVA!
Design, Build, Create, KEVA! Design a skyscraper, suspension bridge or your own structure. Build it using principles of balance, cantilevers, geometric shapes, optimum proportion, stability and more. Create masterpieces with the simplicity of KEVA planks – thousands of identical, precision-cut smooth wooden blocks – all ¼ inch thick, ¾ inch long and 4 ½ inches wide. Worldwide, the number of automobiles continues to increase. How will we fuel them? Explore opportunities and challenges of different fuels,
including gasoline, ethanol, hydrogen, biodiesel, electricity, and yes, even horsepower! See how different fuels affect the economy and the environment, with interactives,
images, video, and artifacts from our collection, including a one-of-a-kind prototype electric car developed by GE in 1978.

Returning in the winter
Model Trains are back at miSci for the holiday season! Stay and play! After seeing the model trains on an 18-foot by 27-foot layout, play with science toys you might not have at home. Explore the Upstate Train Associates' 19- x 27-foot layout of with several O Gauge (Lionel) model trains running continuously and interactive elements that let visitors join in the fun.
Returning in the Spring
Discover such butterflies as Monarchs, Black Swallowtails, Painted Ladies, and Tiger Swallowtails and Spicebush Swallowtails flying about (and possibly landing on you!) as miSci re-creates their habitat – the edge of an open field with flowers and trees. Be sure to stop at the chrysalis chamber to see the butterflies as they emerge. Learn about the exciting life cycles of the butterflies, and learn how to create butterfly friendly environments outside your own home. Pair with Beautiful Butterflies (PreK – 2) and Wow…Bugs! (Grades 3 – 5).
