Science in Action Try-It


What better way to understand science than to try it for yourself! Discover examples of science and technology at work through regular, everyday things. All Brownie Girl Scout Workshops include a Try-it Badge.

$9 per scout / $4 per adult.
Thursday & Friday, January 22 & 23, 2009 @ 6 – 8:15PM

Space Explorer Try-It


Identify the North Star, Big Dipper and other constellations in a Planetarium show. Explore the phases of the Moon, and make your own sundial. All Brownie Girl Scout Workshops include a Try-it Badge.

$9 per scout / $4 per adult.

Math Fun Try-It


Math is a part of everyday life. Explore different ways to tell time, write messages in secret code, and discover how you are “made” of numbers. All Brownie Girl Scout Workshops include a Try-it Badge.

Math is everywhere! Create and decipher codes, hunt for geometric shapes, and strategize on how to solve math puzzles. Discover numbers in yourselves. All Junior Girl Scout Workshops include a Badge.

Making it Matter


Practice being an engineer with this badge. Learn about circuits, structures and compounds with fun hands-on activities led by a Museum Educator. Explore the topics of chemistry, electricity and design all in one night. All Junior Girl Scout Workshops include a Badge.

Astronomy work packet

Explore the Moon, planets, and stars with a live Planetarium show and hands-on astronomy activities. To complete Boy Scout badge requirements, attend the workshop and complete the downloaded Astronomy work packet. When finished, schedule a time to review it with a Merit Badge Counselor.

Electricity
    Electricity work packet

Discover the power of electricity, how to make it, and how it is used. Make different types of circuits and electromagnets while discussing terminology and safety.
